Robert Meister is the author of Political Identity: Thinking Through Marx (Blackwell, 1991) and After Evil: Human Rights Discourse in the Twenty-first Century (Columbia UP, forthcoming), as well as many articles on political philosophy, the problem of human rights, and comparative contexts of reparation and reconciliation after violence. His work has appeared in such journals as Social Text; Political Theory; Postmodern Culture; and Ethics and International Affairs. He is Director of the Rethinking Capitalism Initiative at UCSC and President of the Council of UC Faculty Relations.
