Here is the recap of March 4th, 2010…
UC Berkeley: Students blocked the I-980 freeway in Oakland and about 150 arrests were made. Others marched 5 miles to the Oakland City Council.
UC Davis: Students blocked 80 freeway and one student was arrested.
UC Irvine: Students held a rally on campus, marched down Irvine’s main street, Campus Drive, to the Mason Bridge, and occupied Langson library.
UCLA : Over 200 students chant and sit in in front of the Chancellor’s Office and held a rally at the Bruin Plaza of 400 students and union members.
Also, the actions we have missed on March 4th, but we want to recognize and put up!
There was the other action at UCLA, 50 students marched on campus and blocked entrances of all cars to Parking Lot 4 on campus and the Hilgard Lot to show Solidarity for the Dream Act, against fee increases, for the California Democracy Act, and for the UCLA Diversity Requirement!
Also, UCLA sent 2 buses full of students to March in Downtown LA in Solidarity with a couple thousand folks from CSU’s, CC’s, Labor Unions, Teacher’s Unions, and Community members from the LA Area!
UC Merced: We do not have anything – can anyone from Merced send us information or a photo?
UC Riverside: Students wore red in solidarity and rallied outside the offices of a UC Regent and a State Senator.
UC Santa Barbara: Over 1,000 people, students and workers, marched in downtown Santa Barbara.
UC Santa Cruz: Students blocked both entrances to the campus prompting the university to send out an alert urging staff and students to stay away. Protesters also led a march from the campus to downtown.
UC San Diego: Almost 1,ooo students rallied in front of Geisel Library and students mobilized 4 buses with 200 people and others carpooling to the Governor’s office
