REPOST: States Overall Increase Financial Aid


Inside Higher Education reports in the last year, state governments overall increased the amount of financial aid they gave to college-going students.  However, they also noted that 1) most states financial aid increases only kept pace with inflation, meaning that the real dollar (adjusted for inflation) increase was 0% and 2) College Board reports that the average tuition for state public colleges also rose by 6.4%, so most students actually lost out in the increases to financial aid.

California increased it’s financial aid by 4.79%
