UC Davis Changes it’s definition on Religious Discrimination

Last Wednesday, UC Davis agreed to revise or remove its definition of religious discrimination on their website, specifically about a statement implying Christians are the oppressors over other religions. This decision came about from a formal letter sent by the Alliance Defense Fund consisting 25 ‘concerned’ students. UC Davis responded quickly and efficiently to these complaints and hopes the change will no longer have any negative implications.

UC Merced adds new research facility

The newest UC is getting bigger everyday. On Wednesday, the UC opened a state-of-the-art Stem Cell Instrumentation Foundry. This area will extend UC Merced’s research faculty and will be a place for researchers across the state. The ultimate goal of the foundry is to find ways to use cells for regenerative medicine, which would combat disease like cancer. The foundry was funded by a $4.36 million grant from the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine.
