UCLA offers admission to a record number of prospective freshmen
UCLA has offered admission to 15,560 students for fall 2011 freshmen class, one of the highest numbers in the university’s history. “Each year, we are deeply impressed with the quality of our applicants, and this year even more so,” said UCLA Chancellor Gene Block.
UCSC gets record number of applicants
Officials of UC Santa Cruz announced on Monday that the University received applications from over 26,000 high schools seniors, an all-time record for UCSC. About 3,500 studnets are expected to make up the class of 2015, a increase of 200 from this year’s freshmen class. “We are eager to welcome a new group of students,” Michelle Whittingham, associate vice chancellor for enrollment management and director of admissions, said in a statement. “We will be graduating one of our largest classes this June and this allows us to extend more offers of admission than last year.”
